Michael Joseph Binder Jr is an artist who works primarily with darkroom photography, as well as painting, vernacular photography, and cyanotype.

Binder was born in Arabi, Louisiana. A native of St. Bernard Parish, when Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, he and his family were forced to relocate to Jefferson, Louisiana, the following year. His is heavily influenced by my experiences following Katrina

Binder is a graduate of Brother Martin High School (2015), Nicholls State University, B.S. in Psychology (2020), Ohio University, Masters of Fine Art in Photography and Integrated Media (2025).

Binder has been published in St. Bernard Magazine and recently appeared on the HBO docuseries Pet Cemetery Murder.
